Дослідити роль спорту у житті підлітка.
Гіпотеза дослідження
Заняття спортом не лише сприяє фізичному розвитку підлітків, а й позитивно впливає на їхні розумові здібності.
Мета дослідження
У ході роботи над проектом ми об’єднувалися в групи та досліджували знайдену в Інтернеті інформацію про значення спорту в житті людини, порівнювали та співставляли найпопулярніші види спорту в Україні та Великій Британії, збагачували словниковий запас по темі.
Хід і результати дослід
Diana, Saphy and Alica- we are active, pretty and smart teens from Ukraine. We would like to share our thoughts and experience on our project work "A sound mind in a sound body".
First of all, sport is an important part of our life. We like to take part in sport competitions in volleyball and in basketball.Besides, we are crazy about dancing club.These sport activities helpt us in different ways: it teaches us to win and to lose; it makes us strong,fast and patient; it also control our weight and keep our body fit.
During our project work we found on line the interesting information about some mental effects of playing sports.Sports condition both your body and your mind. And like any form of exercise, we’ll benefit from the release of neurotransmitters like endorphins that elevate our mood. Participating in sports, especially ones that require complex movements like skating, can also improve our brain function at work or school through the release of BDNF – brain-derived neurotrophic factor. Any way you look at it, sports can positively affect your mental well-being and acuity. Playing sports also provides many mental benefits, including a more positive mood and improved self-esteem. A good memory is often seen as something that comes naturally, and a bad memory as something that canot be changed, but actually there is a lot that we can do to improve our memory. Ptysical exercise is important for our memory, because it increases our heart rate and sends more oxygen to our brain, and that makes our memory work better. Exercise also reduces stress, which is very bad for the memory.
As the result of our Internet research we would like to tell about the most popular sports in Ukraine and in Great Britain. Ukraine is a country of sports and healthy lifestyle. It is not a modern craze, but rather – a matter of honor and the choice of everyone. Even at school children learn to love sport having physical training lessons. The most talented among them continue to exercise as their main activity, making a pretty successful career going in for sports for the entire life. As in most countries all over the world, football has the first priority among other sports in Ukraine. It is the most popular game among children and adults. Ukrainian football clubs and the national team proudly represent the honor of the country within the international arena, and the glory of brave Ukrainian players such as Andriy Shevchenko, Andriy Voronin, Oleg Blokhin and others extends far beyond the country. Among the many disciplines Ukrainians participate in, gymnastics and especially rhythmic gymnastics are considered some of the most popular sports ever in Ukraine. Among popular Ukrainian gymnasts are: Larisa Latynina, Lilia Podkopayeva, Tatyana Gutsu and Viktoria Karpenko and in recent years came the names of Anastasia Koval, Alina Kozich and Iryna Krasnianska. When it come to rhytmic gymnastics, the names of Olena Vitrychenko, Anna Bessonova, Natalia Godunko, and Olexandra Tymoshenko are very popular as considered to be among the top rhythmic gymnasts in the world. Ukrainian boxers are also very famous – especially heavyweight boxers. To name a few: Wladimir and Vitali Klitchsko which have won world titles many times and held the WBC, WBO, IBF, IBO and Ring Magazine titles between them. Ukraine is also into ice hockey. The country has a professional league, named the Ukrainian Major League. Their most notable team is Sokil Kyiv. Their national hockey team has competed in several World Championships and at the Olympics
Britain's national sport is football or soccer. It was played there as far back as medieval times. Nowadays it has become the most popular game all over the world. There is no national football team in Great Britain. England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland have their separate football clubs, which compete in European and World Cup matches. There is a certain type of football called rugby.Rugby is played with an oval or egg-shaped ball which can be carried by hands and kicked. It is a rather violent game, that is why the players must be big and strong. Cricket is a popular summer sport in Britain. There are many cricket clubs in the country. Cricket is more popular among men, but it is also played by women and girls. Tennis is another favourite sport of the Englishmen. People all over the world know Wimbledon which is the centre of lawn tennis. It is the oldest tennis tournament in the world considered by many people to be the most prestigious. It takes place over two weeks in late June and early July. Wimbledon is known for its traditions — strict white dress code for competitors, the absence of sponsor advertising around the courts and some others. Every tennis player dreams of taking part at this tournament. Golf is a game of business community. In Great Britain it is very common to establish good business relations playing golf. The equipment for this game is quite expensive as well as the entrance to a prestigious golf club, so not everyone can afford it.

In addition,we came to the conclusion that engaging in sports doesn't only provide physical benefits like weight control or healthy body of a teenager. Playing sports also provides many mental benefits for students, such as improved mood, stress relief, social interaction, increased self-esteem, better memory.
