Опис навчальної теми : Світ навколо нас. Зовнішнє середовище. Види тварин та рослин,які знаходяться в небезпеці. Стислий опис проекту: Вивчення теми проводиться на базі раніше вивченого навчального матеріалу Умовні речення та навпаки з введенням лексики за темою” Навколищнє середовище.”

На початку проекту учні формують групи, кожна з яких займається дослідженням своєї теми,готує плакати на захист природи та тварин, розподілені ролі між учнями хтось виступає у ролі навколишнього середовища,а хтось червона книга,тощо. На уроціы має місто парна робота у пошуках пари с продовженням речення на повторення теми умовних речень(3 типу). Потім учні роблять висновки та створюють мультимедійні презентації для захисту проекту.

                        “World around us. Environment . Endangered  species and their protection’’

Повний план вивчення теми:

Перед початком роботи вчитель знайомить дітей з темою проекту, повідомляє ключові слова та тематичні запитання, визначає проблему, на дошці цитати та висловлювання за темою.

Навчальні цілі та очікувані результати навчання учнів:

Lesson objectives: - Grammar structure: (Review of Conditional sentences) - Key vocabulary : Environment,(to) attract insects, (to)cut down, (to)destroy , endangered species, (to)extinct, extinction, natural habitat, nest, survival, natural resources,destruction,(to)pollute,pollution,(to)regain,(to)improve,(to)create,(to)clear, (to)protect, protection, human beings,(to)poison.

Aims(Цілі): - to promote and ensure the just and kind treatment of animals, birds, plants, insects -to provide students with an overview of some endangered species and of the ways that human activities contribute to species endangerment. - to develop speaking, listening, reading skills. - to introduce and activate the vocabulary of the topic. - to revise III Types of Conditional sentences in speech.

1.розвивати пізновальний інтерес 2.розвивати учнівські навички з говоріння,аудіювання та читання 3.ввести та активізувати лексику за темою 4.повторення граматичних структур умовних речень 3 типу

Materials (Необхідні матеріали):

-handouts, quotations, slogans, photos of endangered species, Student’s Book (In touch 3), background music.

Equipment (Обладнання): tape recorder/cassette (In Touch 3)

Procedure (Хід уроку)

1) Greetings

2) Introduction of the topic:

- Look at the board and read the quotations. Try to explain how do you understand them and guess the topic of today’s discussion and work: ‘’What’s the use of the house if we you haven’t got a tolerable planet to put it on?’’ ‘’Life on Earth is disappearing fast and will continue to do unless urgent action is taken.’’ ‘’We make the world we live in and shape our own environment.’’ ‘’By endangering wildlife, we are endangering ourselves.’’ ‘’We are one Earth but far from one World!’’

Teacher: Today we will talk about our environment and the world around us with all its beauty and problems to be solved by us. -Can you imagine walking in the woods without hearing birds singing in the trees, or what a field would be like without wildflowers blooming in the grasses? - Our plants and wildlife make the world more interesting and beautiful place. More importantly, all living species, including people, depend on other species for survival. We all depend on plants and wildlife. From studying them, we have learned new ways of growing foods, making clothing, and building houses. Scientists have discovered how to use certain plants and animals as sources of medicines. - If we fail to protect threatened or endangered species, we will never know how they might have improved our lives. Endangered and threatened species need our help.

3) Warming-up activities:

(On the board there is some vocabulary for the lesson and definitions of some words) : Teacher: Look at the board and try to guess the meaning of them and translate the words:

- Environment,(to) attract insects, (to)cut down, (to)destroy , endangered species, (to)extinct, extinction, natural habitat, nest, survival, natural resources,destruction,(to)pollute,pollution,(to)regain,(to)improve,(to)create,(to)clear, (to)protect, protection, human beings,(to)poison. Endangered species are those plants and animals that have become so rare, they are in danger of becoming extinct. Threatened species are plants and animals that are likely to become endangered within the foreseeable future throughout all or a significant portion of its range.

Teacher: Tell me what is the reason for them for being extinct? (Elicit the answers fm the class) Pupil 1: Species disappear because of changes to the Earth that are caused either by nature or by the actions of people. Sometimes a terrible natural event, like a volcano erupting, can kill an entire species. Other times, extinction will happen slowly as nature changes our world. People can also cause the extinction of plants and animals. The main reason that many species are endangered or threatened today is because people have changed the homes or habitats upon which these species depend.

4) Presentation of the environment:

Teacher: Now let me present you our environment!!! Pupil 2: Let me introduce myself. I am your Environment. Our nature is in danger but many years ago I was very clean and beautiful. You need to heal me and the world to make a better place to live in. Mottos of our topic today are:

– “We Are the World’s Friends” – “Nature Is a Church” – “Nature Is Our Home” ( Let’s choose the best one and leave it on the board)

Pupil 2: If you hear my name what associations do you usually have in your mind?

Answers can be:

- Our poor ecology - Pollution of air and water - Nature and animal world protection ,etc.

  Now   look at the posters. They present different environmental problems. Paraphrase and match the problems up to the posters (holding them in his hands)

- Animals are disappearing (extinction of animals) - Forests are cutting down (deforestation) - Dirty rivers, seas, oceans (water pollution) - Plants and factories throw wastes into the air (air pollution)

Pupil 2 : You’re right! But now tell me how should you help me , I am here to ask for help! (Pupils show their slogans and posters with the solutions of some environmental problems) Thanks a lot, hope that if you follow everything you told me about today, our world will be a better place for you and for me.

5) Presentation of the Red Book

Pupil 3: I am the Red Book. There are no reasons for me to be proud of something because so many animals, birds, plants, fish and insects have already been in my list and some are classified as endangered in many countries of the world. Their list grows rapidly day by day. And if you want to get more information, you can go to the Internet and type in ’’World Wildlife Fund’’. I can show you some of my endangered species for you to understand the depth of our problem

(shows the photos of some endangered species): Bird-wing butterfly, Cheetah, polar bear, golden-lion Tamarin, Hawaiian duck, kaka bird, Mauritian kestrel ,Philippine eagle, snow leopard, yellow-eyed penguin, panda, red-eared slider Turtle, red hand fish, vulture, Eastern Himalayas flying frog, strawberry Taiwan crab, red-tailed Hawk, red Knot shore bird, Antarctic ice-fish, bird Dodo Pupil 3: YOU SEE THAT THE LIST CAN BE CONTINUED……BUT IF YOU ARE INTERESTED , WE CAN PAY OUR ATTENTION TO THE LISTENING TASK ABOUT SOME OF THEM…(SB.p.58)

    6)    Listening task  (SB.p.58)

Teacher: Listen to some very important information and while listening underline in the text the Conditional sentences: 1/Human beings would not survive if there were no other species on Earth, but some of these species are endangered. 2/If the sailors hadn’t cut down the forest, they would not have destroyed the dodo’s natural habitat. 3/If the dogs, pigs and cats hadn’t gone wild, they wouldn’t have destroyed the dodo’s nests. 4/If we succeed, the garden will become a home for different species of insects and other small animals. 5/If the flowers come up, they will attract insects and if there are insects, birds will come too because they will have food.

7) Post-listening task: (SB.ex.2 p.59)

8) Pair-work:

Teacher: Take just a short part of the sentence and your task is to find the partner who will help you to complete the sentence and then read it. 1/We will destroy our environment…………………

   If we continue to pollute it.

2/the birds wouldn’t have left the area……………..

   If people hadn’t cut down the trees.

3/If we didn’t pollute the water………………………

  The fish wouldn’t die.

4/If we don’t water the trees……………………….

   They won’t grow.

5/ If we all did something to improve our environment…………..

   The world would be a better place.

6/ If people hadn’t cut down the forest………….. The dodo wouldn’t have become extinct.

9) Summing –up ( Висновки):

10) Home-task: (Домашнє завдання)

SB.p.59 ex.5b та також вивчити лексику нового уроку та використати у творі!!! (Write about environmental problems in your city/country and tell what would you do if you were a mayor/president?) (10-15 sentences) Опис оцінювання

-Оцінювання відбувається упродовж всієї роботи над проектом.

1.Вступне слово вчителя. Повідомлення теми, мети; мотивація навчальної діяльності. Проблематика уроку 2. Робота над матеріалом, що узагальнюється. Актуалізація опорних знань: а) завдання-пошук. Об`єднавшись в групи відповідно до тої чи іншої позиції б) лінгвістичні повідомлення учнів за темою,додатковий матеріал в)індивідуальна робота

3. Удосконалення набутих знань і навичок:

- презентація проектів - Презентаці творів за темою Екологія та навколишнє середовище у місті, де ми живемо
