What are the characteristics of a „good conversationalist”? How can we make our messages clear to others? What is the difference between hearing and listening? How can we define the word”feedback”and why is it useful? What is important to keep in mind when giving and receiving feedback? How do the four types of listeners differ? What qualities should a good listener have? What skills should a good presenter posess? What tips could help us overcome anxiety while speaking? How can we correctly write a letter, post-card, sms, e-mail?
Evaluarea
I shall use the following strategies for evaluation diagnostic test(I know, I’d like to know),focusing on selfassessment I shall implement the action plan and steps of evaluation. The steps of evaluation will be done by selfassessment and tests,final work by postings on blogs, presentations.
Activitățile profesorului/elevilor
Discussion: The students will have to explain why it is important to master the characteristics of a good conversationalist ,of a good listener and what tips should be followed to improve one’s public speaking skills. Then every student will fulfill a chart with questions, like:What do I know about complex communication?What I’d like to learn about it? andWhy do I need it? According to the answers from the charts I’ll make the action plan:The answers will be systematized according to students intersts and wishesand group the students according to their level of knowledge. In order to meet their needs I shalook for additional material, examples in literature, videostops, sites . The students will have to selfevaluate and evaluate their classmates’work at this stage.Selfevaluation will be doneby short essays on personal blogs and comments. The necessary time is a week 2 lessons and their homework. The next step would be to make a public presentation , record it and post it on the blog, write an essay on the advantages of feedback and then make an advertisment of the best means of communication with people abroad and also post it. I would also suggest to the whole class to make analyses of their presentations according to all the tips and then try to give ah efficient feedback.
