What You Should Know About Reciprocal Linking

This is a subject matter that everyone is arguing about right now. Everyone trying to help second-guess Google's actions - that they will never complete - and thinking whether reciprocal backlinks is dead, dying or when it is something worth holding on.

Enough of this speculation. Here's the proof. Google do in contrast to reciprocal link directories and they also can sniff one out a kilometer off. There was a keyword rich link directory on my personal site until lately, but I have removed it, because it had become as useful as a chocolate teapot. Whilst the primary front page in the site has kept it's Google Page rank of PR5, in one of their last updates, Google relegated that directory, which had furthermore previously had a PR5, to a PUBLIC RELATIONS 0. Meanwhile, I had not necessarily altered my relating structure that pointed for it. I had not really altered my plans either: I did not hyperlink to any PR0 web sites, kept the quantity of links per page down to a minimum and there was clearly even text descriptions for every entry listed. Google could tell what it turned out and acted while they saw fit. The overall game has evolved since the most recent Panda update and even though edu links, contextual links, and many other backlinks still carry weight, some link building techniques are much less powerful than before.

There is certainly no point wondering or whining concerning this. They can and perhaps they are doing so so that you can provide better results to searchers. You can want it or lump that, but if you would like them to offer you decent listings, ranks or mail you any targeted traffic, their rules rely. My advice: forget *artificial* reciprocal backlinks completely. The time taken up maintain the directory site, approve and disaprove distribution (mostly the actual latter, because the solely people still requesting links are inadequate PR0 sites and spammers) can be much better invested.

Whenever you would like to exchange links with other sites, make sure you choose to do so in an all-natural way, by which Come on, man write about another site somewhat and place natural links in the body text. And consider just giving to get. By which I am talking about, link out in order to useful things for your entertainment of any visitors giving no consideration for the immediate usefulness of their link to a person. What goes around will happen around. Once you are noticed as useful, others will link to you. You do then get the links "reciprocated", but it may not be from the same visitors to whom you related.

That is medicines of linking that Google would like to see. Do not, under any conditions, maintain anything (aside from internal navigation) which may look like merely a list of links or web page link farm, because Google will see it, won't like it and will penalize it. Reciprocal linking, in the kind of lists or directories merely created for that very function cannot do anything to help you with Google (just the opposite, in fact) and as a consequence, est mortuus.
